RoomScanPro

Private — Agile Lens internal, exploring wider release

Collaborative room scanning and real-world measurement for Apple Vision Pro and iPhone.

Before XR, Alex trained as an architect — and a tool that scans a real room, measures it precisely, and hands back an exportable 3D model is the most direct descendant of that on this whole site. Multiple people scan the same room together over SharePlay, mesh data streams live between every device, and the result is measurable and exportable, not just a pretty capture.

Scan together, not alone

Vision Pro and iPhone users join the same scanning session over FaceTime SharePlay; mesh data streams live between every device in binary-packed chunks, so the room fills in from everyone's vantage point at once instead of one person walking the whole space.

A measuring tape that means it

A deliberate middle-finger pinch places measurement points — chosen specifically to avoid the accidental-placement problem a plain tap has — with 0.5cm/0.5in precision and a proper yellow-and-black tape visualization, tick marks included.

Export that actually works

USDZ export uses a hand-rolled, 64-byte-aligned ZIP packer built specifically to route around a broken Apple API path (MDLAsset.canExportFileExtension) on visionOS — the kind of fix that only shows up once you actually try to ship the feature.

At a glance

  • Multi-device collaborative scanning over SharePlay — mesh streams live between everyone
  • Deliberate middle-finger-pinch measurement, 0.5cm/0.5in precision, imperial or metric
  • USDZ export via a custom ZIP packer that routes around a broken visionOS API path
  • True-north compass minimap; cross-device spatial alignment keeps everyone in one coordinate space
  • Streams live into Mission Control for real-time remote diagnostics
