Checking out the new Meta VR Glasses at Meta Connect 2026
Hey folks!
A bunch of updates and here's the bite-size (yum!) tl;dr of it all:
- A fresh series of classes start this week! I'm traveling (currently in Atlanta for Augmented Enterprise Summit at Pico's booth showing off Agile Lens projects) so Wednesday's class will be taught by the brilliant Franco Vilanova and next week you'll get my former Epic Games boss Sean Spitzer, lighting wizard.
- I'll be doing a two part AI masterclass in November, taking you from a blank slate to packaging apps while you sleep.
- We've done over a dozen sessions so far, all of which are available as replays on demand.
- The private repos and plugins available to members continue to grow! Would love for you to join our party.
Free livestream
Last Wednesday I did a livestream / AMA where I discussed hands-on impressions of Meta Connect and the new Meta VR glasses, a look at being among the first in the US with a Pico Space Pro dev kit, and a tour of what's actually running in the ACP lab right now — our XR simulator, Forage, Blueprint Auto Layout, Scene Audit, and various UE5-to-OpenUSD/GLB and Unreal-to-RealityKit export tools.

The next six classes
All are live on Zoom on Wednesdays at 11a ET. Each runs two hours, and every seat includes the recording and the class materials and access to the successive Friday office hours. I'm super excited about the next two, as these guys are geniuses and I can't wait to learn from them:
- Oct 14 — MetaHuman Wardrobes: Infinite Possibilities with guest Gold Unreal Authorized instructor Franco Vilanova. You'll learn to pull garments from characters and other cloth assets into a MetaHuman Wardrobe workflow and grow your customization library. This is also a teaser for a 5-part masterclass he'll be starting in a few weeks.
- Oct 21 — Deep Dive with Lumen for UE 5.8 with guest instructor Sean Spitzer, who spent years teaching Unreal to studios like Pixar, DreamWorks, and Blizzard. It covers, among many topics, the new Lumen Lite: when to use it, how it holds up on mobile and standalone, and how it compares side by side.
The rest of the run (Wednesdays, 11a ET)
- Oct 28 — VR Cinematics for UE 5.8
- Nov 4 — Creative AI Workflow Masterclass, Part 1: Set Up From Scratch (beginner-friendly)
- Nov 11 — Creative AI Workflow Masterclass, Part 2: Let It Run
- Nov 18 — Gaussian Splatting for VR in UE 5.8
- No class Nov 25 (Thanksgiving)

Or become a member to access everything!
Membership is the easy way in: live classes and office hours, every recording, the member-only tools from last week's tour, and a bigger say in what gets taught next.
