XR Probe
0Open it first on any new headset: a WebXR capability readout you can photograph.
The story
Every new headset browser raises the same questions before any real demo runs: what FOV and framebuffer does it hand you, which reference spaces exist, does it report hands or controllers, does select even fire. XR Probe answers them in one world-locked panel that is easy to photograph, then keeps a JSON snapshot you can copy after leaving XR for a side-by-side comparison. It needs no build step and is served straight from GitHub Pages. It was first used on the Meta VR Glasses the day after they were announced.
Highlights
- ✦Display, view, reference-space, input-source, hand-tracking, and select-event data in one panel
- ✦Pinch or press Select to bring the panel back in front of your current head pose
- ✦Add ?ar=1 to make immersive AR the default where the browser supports it
- ✦Retained JSON snapshot for comparing devices, e.g. Quest 3 vs Vision Pro FOV and frame rate
- ✦Hand and controller runs tested headlessly with IWER and Playwright
