AI OS — Set Up Your AI Workstation

Most people meet AI through a chat box in a browser tab. That is the demo, not the tool. This session sets up the thing underneath: an AI environment that lives on your machine, reads your files, runs commands, remembers your context, and works while you do something else.

We build it together, live, on your computer. You leave with it running.

Who this is for
Anyone who has used ChatGPT or Claude and suspected there was more to it. You do not need to be a programmer. You do need to be willing to open a terminal — we will walk through it together, and "I've never used the terminal" is a completely fine place to start.

What we set up
- A real coding agent — Claude Code or Codex, installed and running on your machine, with a working understanding of when to reach for which.
- Skills — the reusable instructions that turn a general assistant into one that knows your workflows. We install a few, then write one of yours.
- Your second brain — a plain-text knowledge base your agent can read and write. Not another app to maintain: files on disk, searchable, yours forever.
- A taste of a fleet — how to run more than one agent at once, and when that is genuinely useful versus a good way to waste money.

What you'll leave with
A working setup, a second brain seeded with your own notes, at least one custom skill you wrote, and a clear map of what to do next. Plus the recording and the config files.

What you need before class
A Mac, Windows, or Linux machine you can install software on, and an account with Anthropic or OpenAI (free tiers are fine to start). Bring a real task you have been putting off — we will point the setup at it at the end.
